Mi Urai Bolognaise

Ingredients
- 2 pieces Mi Urai premium egg noodles, cooked until desired tenderness
- 50 g grated cheese (parmesan or cheddar)
- olive oil (for sautéing)
- Tomato base:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 2 bay leaves
- 250 g tomatoes, chopped
- 100 ml of tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- salt and sugar (to taste)
- Meat base:
- 150 g minced meat (usually beef)
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1. Prepare tomato base – Sauté garlic, onions, oregano and bay leaves in olive oil until fragrant. Add tomatoes, tomato ketchup and tomato paste. Cook over low heat until the flavours are released. Set aside.
- 2. Prepare meat base – Sauté garlic, onions and black pepper in olive oil until fragrant. Add minced meat, salt and sugar. Mix well to avoid lumps and cook until well done.
- 3. To make the Bolognaise sauce, add the tomato base to the meat base and mix well. Cook over low heat until the sauce is slightly reduced and thickened.
- 4. To serve, pour the Bolognaise sauce over Mi Urai and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
